This course provides students an overview and introduction to the research process in the medical and other health professions. Each student will prepare and submit a proposal for a medical or other health professions research project. The course introduces students to the process of developing research proposals designed to expand the body of knowledge in the field of medicine and other health professions. Learning Outcomes

    The student will be able to:
  1. Identify the types of research employed by medical and health professions scientists.
  2. Identify the resources needed to perform medical and other health professions research.
  3. Write a research hypothesis.
  4. Perform a critical analysis of health professions literature relevant to a research topic.
  5. Develop the methodology for a research proposal in the medical and health professions.
  6. Identify ethical issues in medical and health professions research.
