Learning Outcomes

    Students taking this course should:
  1. Attain an understanding of major currents in social scientific thought
  2. Become familiar with prominent theorists and their contributions to how we think about conflict and peacemaking.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to think critically of the ideas presented, identifying their strengths and weaknesses
  4. Begin to formulate their own theoretical perspective, i.e. to make explicit their own beliefs about human nature, social conflict, and the dynamics of conflict management, and to ground these beliefs in social science theory
