B.A. in Theatre
The theatre major at the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences offers an extremely low student-faculty ratio with professors who have a wide variety of backgrounds and academic/research expertise. Each theatre student will have the advantage of individual attention from faculty on coursework and advice on life after undergraduate studies at the college. Students have an outstanding opportunity to learn and excel in this supportive, yet challenging, environment.
Students focus on all areas of theatre, including the following: acting for stage and screen, directing, design, dramaturgy, musical theatre, and technical theatre. They learn how to communicate effectively, identify the historical periods and styles of theatre, demonstrate knowledge of and skill in aspects of technical theatre, such as costuming, lighting, set design and construction, demonstrate skill in public performance, direct theatrical scenes or productions, and understand the role of drama in culture.
The theatre major is offered during the day and evening on NSU's main campus.

Consider Selecting a Minor
Pursuing a minor can deepen your knowledge in a discipline related to your major or enable you to explore a field outside your major area of study and diversify your skills. Speak with a faculty member in your program to determine which minor(s) can support your academic, professional, and personal goals.
Dual Admission Option
Are you planning to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in a related field of study? Consider NSU's Dual Admission Program, which enables qualified undergraduates at the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences to secure early acceptance into one of the university's competitive graduate and professional degree programs.
