The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences brings prominent leaders from various fields to campus through the Distinguished Speakers Series. Special supporting events often occur in conjunction with these visits.

Performing and Visual Arts

The Division of Performing and Visual Arts in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences presents theatre, dance, music, and other artistic productions to complement academic majors and courses.

Main Campus

Campus visits are an important factor in deciding which college or university to attend. A glossy brochure will not tell you if a college is right for you. Visiting campus and meeting students, faculty, and staff will help you decide if NSU's academic style and ambience are a good match for your needs and interests.

Voted "the most beautiful college campus in Florida," Nova Southeastern University is located 15 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale. The 300-acre campus consists of more than three dozen modern buildings, five residence halls, athletic fields, and a recreational complex with swimming pool, basketball courts, and championship tennis courts.

The main campus boasts wireless technology and the 325,000 square foot Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center that provides students and the community with state-of-the-art library and research services.

Campus Driving Directions

Arriving at NSU’s South Entrance
(Mailman-Hollywood and Horvitz Buildings)
  1. From SW 30th Street, turn right onto College Avenue.
  2. Follow College Avenue to first right turn, NSU’s south entrance (McCahill Drive).
  3. Once you enter NSU’s south entrance, take the second right into the Mailman parking Lot.
Arriving at NSU’s North Entrance
(Parker Building, Carl DeSantis Building, Alvin Sherman Library, and the University Center)
  1. From SW 30th Street, turn right into NSU’s north entrance on Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd.
  2. Once you enter NSU’s north entrance on Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd., proceed to the parking garage on your right.

Getting Around Campus

From the Mailman-Hollywood Building to the Parker Building
  1. If you are at the front door of the Mailman-Hollywood Building, facing the lake, turn left to go west towards the Alvin Sherman Library.
  2. Continue in a straight line past the library, and then turn right to walk north towards the parking garage.
  3. Just before the garage, turn left. This path will take you to the front door of the Parker Building.
From the Mailman-Hollywood Building to the Don Taft University Center
  1. If you are at the front door of the Mailman-Hollywood Building, facing the lake, turn left to go west towards the Alvin Sherman Library.
  2. Continue in a straight line past the library, and then turn left to enter the north entrance of the Don Taft University Center.
From the Mailman-Hollywood Building to the Horvitz Building
  1. If you are at the front door of the Mailman-Hollywood Building, walk north towards the lake.
  2. The Horvitz Building is located on your right at the east end of the lake.
From the Parking Garage to the Mailman-Hollywood Building
  1. Exit the garage and head south.
  2. Continue past the Alvin Sherman Library on the left (east).
  3. Turn left (east) after passing the library and head straight (east).
  4. Continue past Gold Circle Lake—the large lake with the shark fin—on the left (north).
  5. The Mailman-Hollywood Building is the four-story building on the right (south).
From the Parking Garage to the Parker Building
  1. Exit the garage and head west.
  2. The Parker Building will be straight ahead (west of garage); there is a covered walkway leading into the building.
From the Parking Garage to the Don Taft University Center (Performing and Visual Arts)
  1. Exit the garage and head south.
  2. Continue past the Alvin Sherman Library on the left (east).
  3. The Don Taft University Center will be straight ahead (south/southeast of garage).
From the Parking Garage to the Horvitz Building
  1. Exit the garage and head south.
  2. Continue past the Alvin Sherman Library on the left (east).
  3. Turn left (east) after passing the library and head straight (east).
  4. Continue past Gold Circle Lake—the large lake with the shark fin—on the left (north).
  5. The Horvitz Building will be ahead, centered with the lake (east/northeast).
