Travel Study Program
Travel study can mean living in Paris for a year while studying French or art history. It might mean living aboard a ship in the Semester at Sea Program. Or it could be an archeological dig or conservation work in a rainforest. Students who want to experience the Travel Study Program, offered through the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, have a great variety of college-hosted programs to choose from, as well as opportunities to discover programs offered by other institutions and organizations, held in 150 countries. The college can help students find Travel Study programs to support their academic and personal goals. Such trips offer a broad range of international academic and cultural activities.

Why Travel Study?
Some students choose to participate in travel study trips to explore in-depth topics important to their majors. Others pursue travel study to satisfy a curiosity about another culture, learn another language, and experience new and completely different things.
In the process, students may find out more about themselves. Travel study experiences may awaken curiosity about the world and allow students to look at their lives from different perspectives. They may develop more confidence in handling new situations—valuable experience for future professional and personal ventures. Students who complete travel study often cherish and draw from their international experience for years to come.
The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences is committed to providing undergraduate students with international study opportunities, the flexibility to earn college credit and receive financial assistance for travel study experiences, and the support necessary for students to plan and realize their own, individual travel goals.
