Distinguished Speakers Series

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences brings prominent leaders from various fields to campus through the Distinguished Speakers Series. Special supporting events often occur in conjunction with these visits.

Performing and Visual Arts

The Division of Performing and Visual Arts in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences presents theatre, dance, music, and other artistic productions to complement academic majors and courses.

Application for Program Participation

In addition to submitting this application online, please deliver a hard copy of the application to the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Office of the Dean (Mailman-Hollywood Building, second floor) by Friday, February 26, at 5:00 p.m. An electronic copy of your abstract must be submitted as an email attachment to uss@nova.edu at the time of application.

Please discuss and review any questions with your faculty sponsor, academic director, or Rehana Seepersad, in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Office of the Dean.

One fully completed application form is needed per project, regardless of the number of students involved. Attach additional sheets of paper, as needed, to insure that information about each student researcher/presenter is adequately provided and clear. THE TITLE OF YOUR PROJECT, INCLUDING ITS SPELLING, AND ALL PARTICIPANTS’ NAMES LISTED ON THIS APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED FINAL.

Abstracts and written presentations should use standard, one-inch margins and be submitted in 12 point, Times New Roman font, right and left justified. All abstracts/written presentations should be sent via an email attachment in MSWORD format.

Please submit a one-page abstract describing the project’s topic, purpose, and goal, using the format posted on the symposium Web site (no more than 250 words) to both your faculty sponsor(s) and the Office of the Dean (uss@nova.edu) by Friday, February 26, 2010, at 5:00 p.m.
