Visual Art Exhibitions
Each year, the Division of Performing and Visual Arts in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences presents outstanding visual arts exhibitions. These events serve as co-curricular opportunities for students to gain practical experience and provide the NSU community with a local resource for educational and entertaining visual arts presentations.

The college’s visual art exhibitions are held in Gallery 217 of the Performing and Visual Arts Wing of the Don Taft University Center, located on NSU’s main campus. Daredevils Under Pressure
In the summer of 2013, 11 intrepid artists embarked on an adventure in daredevil letterpress printing with book artist Jessica Spring. The workshop focused on handset type composition with lead, wood, and ornaments to move beyond traditional straight lines and right angles. The resulting series of prints show a wide variety of typographic experimentation, and are a testament to the rewards of experimental handset composition sans computer.
This series, along with a number of Spring’s masterful prints and process photography, provides an understanding of the technical exploration achieved at the Paper and Book Intensive, where the workshop was held.
